Feb. 1st, 2022 08:37 am I'll add Elder Race by Adrian Tchaikovsky to the list of books completed for the year. A Betrayal In Winter by Daniel Abraham and Maus by art spiegelman should be finished in a day or two.
With all the comics I read and have read, I've somehow never read Maus. It shouldn't have taken the banning of it by the McMinn County School Board to convince me to correct this. Maus has been contested if not banned constantly and consistently in the US since publication. But I didn't, now I am reading it and have felt almost constant apprehension since entering spiegelman's work.
----
School districts in the US are preemptively removing books from the shelves rather than deal with challenges to those books.
----
My mom has Covid.
I'm just going to try not to stress.
