No one is driving the ship. I'm reminded of an idea I encountered first from Robert Anton Wilson that said there was no one conspiracy or cabal that controlled the world. History and current events are frequently made up of conflicting conspiracies (if you take the literal definition of conspiracy "to breathe together") and cabals all in conflict with each other. We might now posit the world is run by conflicting algorithms. Person of Interest has gone from near from science fiction television to possibly fulfilled prophecy, Turing help us.
